When I was setting up – a very long time ago - I went to my bank manager. I didn’t borrow any money, I just needed him to be a banker. He was so worried though, about me being a young woman trying to set up a business, that I was never off the phone with him. I spent more time chatting to him than I did trying to run my own business. Then someone said to me, “Just move your bank. Go up the road and walk into the first bank you see and set up an account.” Suddenly I was able to talk to customers. It’s often little things like that; being able to change things round so you have the freedom to do what you want.
