I joined Nixon Hire, my family plant hire company from school at age 16. Having worked my way up through all departments, I still felt unfulfilled as I was still in effect “working for my Dad”

I recall the enjoyment I experienced when I helped start a new depot in Edinburgh in 1981, the teamwork, camaraderie and celebrating of success together.

In 2001 a representative from Adecco, called Sarah Eltringham, visited me with a view to securing our recruitment. To cut a long story short, we married and Sarah and I started our own consultancy offering a quality personal service to her clients.

We started Recruitment Now in January 2004. It was exciting to go back to the start again just like my time in Edinburgh 20 years earlier.
