Obviously money has been a huge obstacle as I hadn’t worked for three years beforehand and my confidence was a little on the low side. Also my administrative knowledge wasn’t really up to scratch as things change so quickly. When you’ve been out of the working world it can be pretty difficult (and scary) to imagine yourself back in it. These things can definitely be overcome though. Every time I’m told, “sorry, can’t help” I look to the next possible door.
