Some people would judge success purely in financial terms, and whilst that is a guideline, I would judge success in different ways. I know that I’ve put a lot of effort into my business, and to see something that you’ve produced that is tangible and creates jobs for people, is fantastic.

I’m very very fortunate that I’ve worked with a lot of talented young people straight out of university. Some have left Explain and have gone on to have great careers, but some, like Kim, have stayed with us.

I think the other measure of success is to do with our clients, and whether we have actually moved them forward in their business, either through the processes they use, or the customer service that they give, or the development of a new brand or product. I think you’ve got to take several factors of success into account; not just your financial position.
