My brother Michael has been selling Digipoint products in Norway for the past two years and had the chance to purchase the Master Franchise for the UK. He thought his brothers might want to go into business with him, and both Ian and I were more than willing to say yes.

All three brothers were born and educated in Sunderland. I’d left school in 1977 and then served an apprenticeship at the shipyards where I passed an ONC in Naval Architecture, whilst Ian left school in 1986 to serve an apprenticeship in Auto Electrics. Michael became a draughtsman and has been living in Stavanger, Norway for over 20 years.

Ian and I are running taxis in Sunderland at the moment, but we’ve since formed a partnership with Michael to run the UK Franchise of Digipoint Europe. It was a chance to try something new- with a new challenge, a new direction, and the opportunity to work together for the first time.

My daughter once lost a vital piece of coursework on her hard drive, and so on a personal level it’s been really important for me to provide people with an interactive storage system which will never lose its data.
