Defining Moment
I wasn’t keen on starting it straight away as I had shares maturing in early 2008. I thought you needed quite a lot of capital to put into a new business so I couldn’t see the point in not waiting.
Someone said to me, ‘If you’re not happy now, they’ll just end up giving you slightly more responsibility, maybe paying you a bit more. That desire and want that you’ve got now to land the business might start to fade and you’ll find more and more reasons not to do it.’ She was absolutely right. Where I was I could end up being a director, but in name alone only; in the end I‘d just be a glorified sales person.
