Defining Moment
Ever since I was little I was excited about business. I used to watch BBC’s working lunch (which I would record and watch when I got home from school) every day whilst my friends would be watching cartoons, so running a business has always been something I really wanted to do.
Back in the late 90s when the internet was beginning to take off, I got my first PC and took a keen interest in website design. I used to run several sports fan sites whilst I was in high school; none of these made much money but I enjoyed building them.
After 6th Form I started a career in retail, but also worked as a part time web master for a recycling company until they ceased trading two years later.
This finally brought me onto my latest project. I set up whybroadband.co.uk following an appalling experience with a broadband provider. I realised that if I had researched the company thoroughly before signing up with them, I would have known they were poor value and offered a poor service.
whybroadband.co.uk is a broadband portal designed to assist users to research broadband providers and deals to find the most suitable products for their needs. The website is not just a comparison tool but also offers guides to assist internet beginners. In total we have over 300 pages at the moment, a figure which I expect to grow at a rate of 30- 50 per month.
